Senator Bob Dole
Dole for President
810 1st Street N.E., Ste.300
Washington, DC 20002
Dear Senator Dole,
I knocked off work a little earlier than I had planned last night, so I was able
to catch the tail end of the second Presidential debate on the radio on my way
home. I am glad that I was able to do so.
During your response to Ron Kite, minister, you said something very interesting.
I later obtained a transcript to make sure that I got it right. Here's what you
said:
So I carry around in my pocket - I can't pull it out, I'd violate the
rules, a copy of the Tenth Amendment, which says that we ought to
return power to the states and power to the people - people here. You
ought to make more decisions.
I find your appeal to the Constitution out of character with your enthusiasm to
amend it in favor of prayer in schools and against flag burning. Your abandonment
of the Second Amendment is also painfully obvious.
Are you not being, well, a hypocrite? Or is there something that I just don't
understand here?
Please let me know where you really stand on this matter of the Constitution.
Sincerely,
Dennis Griesser
